News & Pew Sheet for Sunday 22nd March

St. Mary-the-Virgin, News for Sunday 22nd March.

This Sunday Bishop Jonathan will be celebrating mass at 11am on the live stream. If you have any prayer requests do send them in sooner rather than later. The live stream has seen over 4000 people this week – with an average of 1000 people each day joining us for Morning Prayer, Mass and Evening Prayer; and even though you’ve not be able to be with us physically it’s heartening to see so many people turning to the trusted and deep rhythm of prayer that has been at the heart of St. Mary’s for over 80 years.

Free Bible App

We’re aware that whilst many people are at home they are no longer hearing the bible read each day. This can be a real loss and whilst reading scripture is at the heart of what it means to be a Christian – hearing it read out loud is what is means to be a Christian Community. With that in mind we have partnered with a company called Dwell who make an app that reads the bible to you. It does this in a variety of voices and has brilliant playlists and collections of scripture that you can engage with each day. Watch the video below to find out more.

The app normally costs ¬£29 per year, but we’re happy to announce that you can now receive it for FREE as part of the congregation of St. Mary’s. Click this link and sign up and download the app to your iPhone or Android.

Free Sunday Missal

CTS have produced (at very short notice) new copies of the Sunday Missal for people to have at home to follow along via live streams. We have secured 30 copies, please let us know ASAP if you would like one and we’ll get one delivered to you.

Service sheet for when Mass cannot be celebrated publicly

The Bishops Conference of England and Wales have produced a service sheet that you can print out at home for when you can not attend daily mass. It’s a very useful resource and you may want to use it each day. You can download it by clicking here.
