News from St Mary the Virgin, Kenton on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th February 2022: The Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
There's a lot going on at the moment! Globally, we are all concerned about the situation in the Ukraine. There's not a lot we can do about it, but we certainly need to hold the people of the Ukraine in our prayers. Let us hope that the conflict is quickly resolved without the loss of too many more lives. It is clear that there will be repercussions of these events for many months to come.
Within the Diocese of London, it is reassuring to receive some good news from our partners in Angola and Mozambique. The Spring Newsletter of ALMA (Angola London Mozambique Association) carries reports of successful projects, alongside the flooding and devastation caused by a tropical storm. Some parts of the UK will be able to relate to that after recent events here. The ALMA Newsletter also reports on the consecration of The Right Reverend Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy as the new Bishop of Willesden. Bishop Lusa will be welcomed to the Area at a special service this Sunday (27th February) from 4.00pm at Emmanuel Church Northwood. We are all invited to join in with this service which will be live-streamed:
The Order of Service is available here if you would like to join in with it.
In our Parish, the Parochial Church Council has now met, and will be advertsing for our new Vicar next month. Please hold our Churchwardens, Johnette and Ken, in your prayers as they will rightly be our Parish representatives on the interview panel.
The first Mass of Sunday is on Saturday 26th February at 6.00pm. Parish Mass is on Sunday 27th February at 10.30am.
Lent begins this week! The Mass on Ash Wednesday is at 9.30am. Let us use this time of reflection and preparation, as we journey towards the joy of celebrating our Lord's resurrection at Easter.
