Edward graduated from the University of Wales with degrees in Education (Trinity) and Theology (St.David’s).He trained for the priesthood at Chichester Theological College (The former bishop  of Chichester Dr John Hind, was Principal).

He was ordained for the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon by Bishop B.N.Y. Vaughan, Peter-tide 1983 and served curacies in Pontardawe (Llangiwg) and Morriston. He was also asst.chaplain at Morriston District General Hospital.

In 1987 The Most Reverend George Noakes, appointed him Vicar of three parishes in the Diocese of St David’s.Tregaron,(where the Archbishop had once served) Strata Florida and Ystradmeurig. He was also chaplain to Tregaron Hospital and Chaplain to the Royal British Legion.

Answering a call to healthcare chaplaincy he later moved to the Diocese of Lichfield and for twelve years was Senior Chaplain at Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust. Bishop Keith Sutton appointed him asst. Area Dean of Walsall. Edward was also Chaplain to Walsall ATC, and a Trustee of ACROSS to Lourdes.

From 2000 to 2010 he was the Church of England’s National Officer for Healthcare Chaplaincy (CEO of the Hospital Chaplaincies Council) based at Church House Westminster. For most of that time Bishop Christopher Herbert was Chair of the Council. Edward was involved in the strategic and operational needs for the 325 whole time NHS Anglican chaplains and 1500 part time chaplains.The role involved working with the NHS, Dioceses and the other Christian and World Faiths.He was also Hon Chief Officer for the MultiFaith Group for Healthcare Chaplaincy. In February 2010 he was appointed priest in charge of St John’s Church Watford, by the Bishop of St Alban’s, having been NSM priest there since September 2007( covering the Interregnum).

On May 20th 2011 he  was inducted as Vicar of St Mary’s Kenton (a Fulham Parish)  by The Right Reverend Peter Wheatley,Bishop of Edmonton and acting Bishop of Fulham.

He was appointed a Justice of The Peace in 1993. Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts in 1999. In 2001 he joined the Institute of Directors. He graduated from the University of Surrey with a Masters in Bioethics in 2007 (Saint Mary’s Twickenham). In 2008 Fr. Edward was appointed a Chaplain to Her Majesty The Queen and member of the ecclesiastical household.

He is also a visiting lecturer at St Mary’s University Twickenham, an associate priest at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham; a member of the Confraternity of The Blessed Sacrament and the Society of Mary.

Since arriving at St Mary’s, Fr. Edward has been appointed  a Trustee of Harrow Bereavement Care; Trustee of St Luke’s Hospice Kenton Grange; Chaplain to 101 Kenton And Kingsbury Squadron ATC. Chairman of 4th Kenton St Mary’s Scouts.
