Why not visit us over Advent & Christmas this year? We are a calm and quiet place – away from the busyness of the shops and the constant advertising in the world at large. A place of quiet, of peace and of prayer.
We continue our normal pattern of prayer throughout Advent and Christmas with a few wonderful additions.
On Wednesday mornings after Mass (10am) and on Thursday evenings after Mass (7pm) we will be learning about the Lord’s Prayer. How did we come to receive it? Why do we pray it at every service? Why is it the most important prayer?
On the 15th December there’s a terrific carol concert with Stanmore Choral Society – a “Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten” – starting at 3pm and with drinks and treats afterwards.
On Christmas Eve join us for the first Evening Prayer of Christmas at 6pm and then again at 11:30pm for Midnight Mass.
Christmas Day we will gather to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ for Mass at 10:30pm, and then again on Boxing Day.
For the ultimate break from the loud world outside, come and sit in the peace of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel each Tuesday from 6pm where we pray the Rosary, sit in front of the Lord in Exposition and then offer a quiet Mass together.
